Letters: Brinson supports Stutsman

As seen in the Elkhart Truth

Mark Brinson says Jeremy Stutsman would continue Allan Kauffman’s good work.

Great things are happening in Goshen. The downtown is bustling with activity. Local businesses are expanding. Manufacturing is thriving. Neighborhoods are strong. And the community here is genuinely excited about the future.

Mayor Allan Kauffman deserves a great deal of credit for Goshen’s resurgence. He has dedicated himself to advancing this city. While skillfully managing budgets during tough economic conditions, he found creative ways to capitalize on opportunities and build a progressive community where people want to put down roots.

As Mayor Kauffman retires, it is now time to elect a new Mayor who can continue the tremendous progress made during Kauffman’s administration. Goshen needs a proven leader who understands Goshen’s past and has a clear vision for the next generation. I have no doubt that Jeremy Stutsman is that leader.

As the Community Development Director for the City of Goshen, I have had the opportunity to work closely with Jeremy Stutsman. I have continually been impressed with his intelligence, his positive energy, and his ability to work with all parties to get things done. Jeremy is the kind of person who has the skills to build on Goshen’s success and lead the city through a culture of inclusion and non-partisanship.

Jeremy Stutsman is the right choice to keep Goshen moving forward. As mayor, he will be able to apply his experience as a councilman, business owner, community volunteer and life long Goshen resident to expand development, improve neighborhoods, prevent discrimination and enhance Goshen’s overall quality of life.
